About the Event

General Samuel Cooper was one of only seven full generals during the war, but with the earliest date of rank.  There is much more to learn about this lesser-known figure of the American Civil War / War Between the States.  RSVP.  Free Will Donations are always appreciated.

Learn about our presenter, Mr. William Welsch, below:

William M. Welsch, a retired administrator at Montclair State University in New Jersey, is the current and founding president of the American Revolution Round Table of Richmond, and co-founder of the Congress of American Revolution Round Tables. He is a past president of the Richmond Civil War Round Table, as well as a tour guide of Revolutionary War battlefields, presenter, and author of

multiple articles on the Revolution. His main interests include the Revolution in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and the generals of the Continental Army. He served in the United States Marine Corps and is an old New Jersey politician. He has two daughters and five grandchildren and lives in Glen Allen with Gerry, his wife.
